Our work today is to get rid of these fence posts. The customer needs these old posts removed to open up their property. It’s our job to uproot the posts and store them in a barn. We specialize in removal jobs like this, so if you have something on your property that you want taken away then don’t hesitate to contact us. We’ll take care of all your landscaping needs for a reasonable price, so call or text us at 317-784-8760 or shoot us an email at HappyDumpTruck@gmail.com and we’ll give you a free estimate on price.
Since this is a specialized job, we need specialized equipment. The attachment you see us use with our mini skid steer in the video is a custom claw made with the Toro 3-in-1 multi-tool. Unmodified it can be used as a ripper, tow bar, or a landscaping boom. But when welded to an angle iron, it gets even more useful. This customized attachment can pinch the fence posts and pull them out of the ground, something that a factory multi-tool wouldn’t be able to do.
The process to pull out the posts is simple. Angle the custom multi-tool over one of the posts and lower it down around the post. Then pinch it and pull up. The powerful pneumatic arms of the mini skid steer have enough pound force to pull out the fence posts, despite how deep they are rooted. Aside from one or two stubborn posts which are snapped in half when we try to uproot them, the posts are successfully extracted from the ground.
Now we need to transport them over to the customer’s barn. You might think that we need to switch attachments for this, but no! The multi-tool really lives up to its name and doubles as a sizable grapple attachment. We can pick up 6-9 posts at a time! Once they are in the grapple’s grasp, we drive the mini skid steer over to the barn, where we deposit the fence posts. After that, it’s just a matter of filling in the holes we made and smoothing the earth out.
We have some new topsoil delivered to our customer’s property and we pour it out. Then we put on a bucket attachment and place the soil into the holes where the posts were. Then we switch to a leveler and flatten the holes until they are smooth as butter. Now we just need to pack up our landscaping equipment and we’ve got another happy customer! We do all sorts of landscaping/removal and demolition work at Schott Services, so make sure to contact us at 317-784-8760 or email us at HappyDumpTruck@gmail.com if you need some work done!
