Huge removal job today by Schott Services, your friendly, neighborhood landscape demolition specialist! We’re tasked with taking the customer’s backyard from an ivy-covered mess, with fences falling over and brush growing all around the place, to a flat, pristine, and clear backyard with grass ready to replace the ivy. Phew! That sounds like a lot of work. But here at Schott Services, removal is our middle name! We’ll take down the falling fences, get rid of all the ivy, remove an old flagstone walkway, and even take out a rusting duck spring rider. Remember, we don’t just do ivy and fence jobs, we also do brush removal, forestry mulching, gravel driveway installations, lot clearing, shed removals, etc. Pick up your phone and call 317-784-8760 or email HappyDumpTruck@gmail.com today!
We start off this job by removing the metal fence at the front of the yard. We disassemble the fence with a circular saw, cutting the rails from the posts. Then we pull out the metal posts with our Vermeer 925 mini skid steer and its root grapple attachment. Before hauling the fence posts, we again use the saw to remove them from their concrete bases, for ease of transportation. With that fence out of the way, we can move into the yard and start removing all the ivy!
If you have experience pulling ivy by hand, you’ll know that it often refuses to budge even when pulling with full force. That’s why we do our ivy removals with our mini skid steer. Against our root grapple, this ivy doesn’t stand a chance. For our machine taking out this ivy is as easy as rolling up a carpet.
While we steadily remove the ivy, we also start removing some other stuff. First we take care of the flagstone walkway. The stone tiles aren’t heavy enough to pose a challenge to our mini skid steer, so they get picked up and hauled without issue. Next is some ivy that is piled up at the edges of the house. It’s easier to remove this small amount of ivy by hand, so we pull it all up manually. Finally we remove the duck spring rider. It comes out no problem with the root grapple.
As mentioned earlier, we’ve been removing the ivy while we remove these other things, and by now we’ve got most of it out. So we move on to removing the falling wooden fence. This fence is old and brittle so it doesn’t take much effort to tear it down.
With the fence gone, we’re almost down. We now need to remove some brush along the edge of the property, take down an old tree trunk, and clean up the yard.
The brush comes out easily, the old tree trunk pretty much falls apart by itself due to age, and the cleanup doesn’t take a lot of time. Before we know it we’re down with all this. Finally we smooth out the yard with our leveler attachment and reseed the ground with grass seeds. Then we cover the yard with mulch to promote the grass’s growth, ending this job. Phew! That really was a lot of work. But a job well done is a job worth doing, and it’s worth it to see how much our customer’s backyard has been improved.
And, don't forget about these great services in the winter time. Very often this type of work slows down in the winter, but we are still open for business! More often than not, we can still do this type of landscape removal. Assuming the ground is not frozen, which does not last long in Indiana any more, we get your backyard in order again. And, we discount our pricing from November until late February to give you more value for your money!
