Today we have a massive english ivy removal job. There’s probably about a 100 x 70 feet area of ivy that we need to remove. Definitely the biggest ivy job we’ve ever done! The whole front lawn of the property (which is pretty big) is covered in ivy. But it doesn’t stop there. The ivy snakes around to the side too. Well, there’s lots of ivy to clear so let’s get to work! Due to the simplicity of the job, there isn’t much remarkable to say other than how long it takes. Because of the massive area that’s covered in ivy, it takes us a whole three days to clear it all. First we clear the side, then we move on to the front, and then to the small patch of land across the driveway, which is also overgrown with ivy. The process for the removal is pretty simple itself. We just use our mini skid steer and root grapple attachment to run through the ivy and pick it up in bundles. The ivy is thick, but it’s no match for the root grapple!
There’s so much ivy that it fills up our truck bed ten times over before we’re done! Once all the greenery is hauled away, we smooth out the uncovered dirt, plant new grass seed, and lay down mulch. And that’s it for this job! In the video we return to the job site after a few months to see that the new grass is growing nicely!
